Nick Reiner Has Been Charged With The Murder Of His Parents Rob Reiner And Michele Reiner After A Brief Manhunt

32-year-old Nick Reiner has been charged in the brutal stabbing death of his parents, movie director/actor, Rob Reiner, 78, and actress/producer, Michele Reiner, 68. The couple were married for 36-years and raised three children (Jake, Nick and daughter Romy). Jake Reiner became an actor and writer. Romy Reiner, 28, became an actress/producer. Nick Reiner became a massive drug addict, violent misfit and murderer.

It all came to a horrible end this past Sunday, when Romy found her parents lifeless bodies in their Brentwood mansion in Los Angeles. Rob, Michele and Nick had attended a Christmas party on Saturday night in Pacific Palisades, just a few short minutes away from their home. The party was thrown by Hollywood cultist and former talk show host, Conan O'Brien. There were reports of Nick aggravating guests and loudly arguing with his parents.

Rob and Michele left the party upset on Saturday night due to Nick's behavior, which other guests described as embarrassing. It is not yet known if Nick left the party with them. However, Rob and Michele's murders took place sometime between 10:00PM on Saturday, December 13, 2025 and 2:00PM on Sunday, December 14, 2025. I state this because a report in the mainstream press reveals Nick checked into the Pierside Santa Monica hotel with his own credit card at approximately 4:00AM Sunday morning. Their bodies were discovered at approximately 3:00PM by Romy when the masseuse repeatedly knocked on the door to no answer at 2:00PM. It is unlikely Nick returned to the home to commit the murders after checking into the hotel at 4:00AM.

According to the New York Post, the U.S. Marshals Task Force and LAPD Gang and Narcotics Unit later found him near Exposition Park at approximately 9:00PM on Sunday night. Reports in the mainstream press indicate the shower, bed and floor of the suite were covered in blood. Nick had showered to get the blood off himself. He also put dark sheets over the window of the room.

Nick was initially given $4,000,000 bond but it was revoked shortly after due to the nature of the crime. He is currently on suicide watch and being evaluated to determine if he is mentally competent to stand trial. They are trying to make a determination if he is criminally insane and incapable of participating in the trial.

Rob and Michele placed Nick in rebah 17 times since he was 15-years-old. They laid down ground rules that he would either go to rehab or leave their home. At times he foolishly chose to leave their home and be homeless so he can do drugs, rather than go to rehab, which he later unreasonably blamed them for befalling him.

Previous interviews indicate a great resentment of his parents for making him go to rehab, when it was the responsible thing to do regarding forcing him to get treatment. Nick stated, "I got sick of doing that s***. I come from a nice family. I'm not supposed to be out there on the streets and in homeless shelters doing all these f***** up things."

Nick was very entitled. He didn't work and relied on his parents for everything, even at age 32. He lived in the guesthouse of his parents $13,500,000 mansion. He was not thankful for all he had in life. His father literally gave him a film career at 22, with the 2015 movie he let him co-write called "Being Charlie" when most writers and directors, even those who go to college for filmmaking, do not receive that type of break at such a young age (or sometimes at all).

Nick could have gone to college or started a company with his parents financial backing. Instead he chose to be a bitter, resentful, violent miscreant. Most people will not feel sympathy for people who choose such a destructive path. However, it is clear evil had consumed Nick from an early age and it was waiting to surface and wreak havoc. When he did not get his way he erupted in anger. These were not simply outbursts. They were the makings of a murderous psychopath.

Quotes from a 2015 interview reveal Rob and Michele feeling guilty about listening to medical professionals who warned their son Nick is a manipulative liar. Rob stated, "When Nick would tell us that it wasn't working for him, we wouldn't listen. We were desperate and because the people had diplomas on their wall, we listened to them when we should have been listening to our son. Michele stated, "We were so influenced by these people. They would tell us he's a liar, that he was trying to manipulate us. And we believed them."
 

However, the psychiatrists and psychologists were right. Nick is a dangerous, manipulative liar. He really should have been committed to a psychiatric ward long ago and made to undergo long-term treatment for his mental illnesses and drug addiction. Many drug addicts get upset with people but they don't stab them to death. Nick's extensive psychological problems were the bigger problem.
